1. Acceptance

By accessing or using keptlocal.com (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please don't use the Service.

2. The service

keptlocal provides free, browser-based tools for working with PDF and image files. All file processing occurs locally in your browser — we do not receive, store, or process the content of files you work with on the site.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to use keptlocal only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• Use the Service to process files you don't have the legal right to modify
• Attempt to bypass any technical limits we put in place
• Use automated systems to scrape, hammer, or overload the Service
• Reverse-engineer the Service in violation of applicable law
• Use the Service to create or distribute content that is illegal, harmful, infringing, defamatory, or that violates the rights of others

4. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific file processing will succeed. Always keep a backup of important files before running any tool.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, keptlocal and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed USD $100.

6. Intellectual property

The keptlocal brand, design, copy, and proprietary code are owned by us. You retain all rights to the files you process — we make no claim on them, since we never receive them. Open-source libraries used in the Service (such as pdf-lib) are governed by their own licenses.

7. Third-party services

The Service uses Google AdSense for advertising and Cloudflare for hosting and analytics. Your interactions with those services are subject to their own terms and policies.

8. Changes to the service or terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or parts of it) at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms; the "Last updated" date at the top reflects when. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute shall be resolved in the courts of Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
